Howe Truss

$20.00$1,250.00

Description

In order to be an “authentic” covered bridge, its primary support structure must be made of wood and utilize a standard engineering truss structure. The most common truss used in Oregon covered bridges is the Howe Truss, characterized by its criss-cross “X” pattern shown in this image. The outside bridge housing is built to protect the enclosed truss and extend its lifetime.
