Description
On top of the Kaiparowits Plateau is one of the world’s richest finds of late Cretaceous dinosaur fossils ever found on earth. The find was discovered within the last 25 years. The grey moonscape at the bottom foreground is locally called “The Moon”. That area is famous for Pleasiosaurus skeleton finds. “The Moon” is the bottom of an ancient ocean called the Western Interior Cretaceous Seaway where Pleaseiosaurus and ancient shark species roamed 90 million years ago.
