Description
Hoodoos found in Blue Canyon, Arizona. A hoodoo is a rock formation made from two different types of stone, one hard and one soft. The harder stone forms a capstone over a softer stone pedestal. Hoodoos are formed by water and wind erosion over long periods of time. The capstone protects the softer stone directly beneath it as the other soil around it gets washed away.
